...that gunpowder and alcohol don't mix. Since I don't drink alcohol in any shape or form, it has never been an issue for me.

Having armed intoxicated patrons is never a wise idea, but yeah, a legitimate armed security detail that has good training could certainly mitigate the actions of such a madman.
