Mind-altering drugs and guns (as well as a few other things, like driving) don't go together.

The Orlando shooter, like other shooters and bombers before him, picked a ripe, ripe target: a building crammed full of people unlikely to be armed and that would be difficult to escape from.

Houses of worship, schools kindergarten through college, and dance clubs are ripe targets as well. As are the security lines at sports and concert venues, airports and other places of mass transportation, beaches, etc.
