2. One would think computerization might speed things up

All of the info they require is pretty individual specific. One thing I remembered being told was to hold on to it because it would be VERY difficult to replace. Of course, that was many, many years ago.

I will see if the Secretary of State will accept my somewhat faded paperwork. It is legible - barely.

I renewed my license on line and still haven't received my new one. Fortunately I printed off the renewal confirmation but I figured maybe I'll just upgrade to the 'full monty' license - real ID, enhanced and with the vet insignia.
