Battle over Tomball veteran's home could be headed to a jury trial [View all]

TOMBALL, Texas – A local family’s legal battle with a charity that helps wounded veterans may be headed to a jury trial.

Hunter LeVine’s family said a judge has ruled that they can keep their son’s home for now.

The Helping a Hero charity gave LeVine a home in Tomball in 2011 when he came home from war after an IED left him blind. He died suddenly last June.

Helping a Hero now wants the home back. However, a judge said the organization failed to buy the home back from the family before a 60-day deadline.

Helping a Hero said they look forward to taking the case before a jury.
