That is a huge victory and will provide a lot of security for you and your family. May you be able to enjoy some peace.
I received a decision for 100% P&T about 3 years ago and, although I still struggle immensely on a day to day basis, there is a lot of comfort in knowing that my family is taken care of via my disability payments.
I dont know anything about you situation, but it might be worthwhile to look into the VA Caregiver program. My wife gets a lot of support from them and receives nearly $2,000 a month from them as a stipend for putting up with me and my issues. Either reply to this thread or send me a message and Ill tell you more about it.
As far as SSDI goes, I found it was easier to get that than getting VA disability. They are very quick in comparison to the VA and very friendly. If you are going for SSDI, I recommend you deal with them in person and not through mail or on the phone. You might have to spend some time in a waiting room, but it is worth it.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me either via this thread or private message. Ive been through it all and it completely worked out for me and my family.
