7. Did it for a few years

Had a beautiful beach cottage and many expat friends in our small Mexican Pueblo. Why we left? I grew tired of trying to speak a new language all the time and missed our kids terribly. They couldn't visit often. It just wasn't the USA and I missed home. We found the average expat goes home after five years or so. A wonderful experience but glad to have come home. Do lots of research if you go.
