After WWII, and before the huge changes of the 60's; was a kind of quiet, traditional, peaceful era. I didn't identify with the generation before me, the WWII people, but I would have loved the sixties! But by then I was married with a family, so missed all the excitement, except vicariously! A lot of the music in the 50's was pretty dorky: How Much Was That Doggy in the Window, Que Sera, etc... But great Broadway and Hollywood musicals! And there was a revival of Glenn Miller, which I loved. This was BEFORE the Beatles, and Rock and Roll. Western Swing was popular, but not my favorite.
