Driver, 84, hits reverse by mistake and winds up parked atop another car [View all]

An 84-year-old driver accidentally reversed his car on top of another vehicle outside the John F. Kennedy Medical Center on Monday morning, Edison police said.

Authorities received a call around 10:45 a.m. about a two-car accident in which a Toyota was on top of an unoccupied parked Acura vehicle, said Edison Lt. Robert Dudash. The driver was not injured and no summons were issued.

“He was parked in front of the other car and mistakenly apparently put it in reverse as opposed to drive and in reverse drove right up onto the hood and ultimately the roof of this parked vehicle located directly behind him,” Dudash said.
