2. Why everyone should drive a manual transmission.

It's simply not possible to accidentally put one in reverse.

More realistically, it's why drivers over age 70 or so should need to pass a new driving test every few years. I'm 72. When I lived in Kansas, every time you renewed your license you needed to pass a written test. They'd mail you a copy of the test and a booklet, and you could turn in the completed test once you got to the DMV. I always filled out out while waiting in line. Every so often there was a question I wasn't sure of, so I'd look it up in the book. I really appreciated being forced to renew some of that information every so often.
