Hank Phillippi Ryan is a woman. She, like her first series character, is a television journalist. Wikipedia says she has a bunch of Emmy awards.

We've met her at cons--somehow she's at the center of things most of the time--and she has a knack for either remember faces or faking it really well...My wife says she wants to be her when she grows up.
