I wasn't as happy with his earlier novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer (he took a wonderfully complex character in Lincoln and rather than add to that complexity with the vampire angle, he made Lincoln a flat character who did everything because of vampires). But this one I liked. Caveat: I'm not a huge Jane Austen fan. I get why she's popular, but I'm just not a fan of the Regency period. Unlike Lincoln, I think this novel takes a sound original text and just adds to "the sickness" that is in the original by making it zombies. Nicely done. Plus, all the previews look awesome.
