Tony Gwynn in 1994 was nearing 0.400 if I recall correctly (without looking it up)...1994 was also the year MLB killed my love of the game and replaced it with a benign passing interest.

Billionaires fighting with multi-millionaires to see how much of the nearly $500 for one-game that they fleece a family of 4 to attend a game in person? No thanks...I have my memories and regrets that my boys never got the same.
