He started with another play-by-play announcer who was killed in a car wreck. Vince Lloyd then took that guy's place.

Boudreau could be accidental comic gold on commercials. Commercials were often live and Lou would fight words he couldn't pronounce to the death. There was one classic where he fought 'rhododendron' to a near deadly draw.

But he sure knew his baseball.

Who can forget when he left the booth to be one of the Cubs 'college of managers'?
