There was a guy named Earl Webb, who played from ‘25-‘33. He hit 67 doubles one year. Still the record, I think.
And Boudreau, as a player-manager was credited with the first infield shift. The Boudreau Shift. Radical at the time. Before sabermetrics and the like.
