Also, I find describing their organization as a union.
I worked with & around union people for decades.
Not once did I know one that had a contract different from the others.
It's more a guild of independent contractors that doesn't resemble what my dad belonged to. (Teamsters)
Also, those unions were looking for the best deal, but they weren't trying to harm the employer. They understood the deal has to work for everyone, including those outside the loop.
The MLBPA has never been concerned about the greater good of the game.
Marvin Miller was 50 years ago. The owners are closer to partners than adversaries. The need for militancy ended long ago.
