2. One of the more interesting herons - shorter, stockier body, with fairly heavy bill.

Orange feathers appear for mating season, which really helps them stand out; that is, if the bill doesn't do that already.

My son's Flickr page has one popping a grasshopper into its mouth. He was incredibly lucky with that shot.
