Jordan (along with Phil Jackson and Scottie Pippen) absolutely HATED the GM at the time (Jerry Krause). Krause basically escorted Jackson and Pippen out of town, even though Jordan kept threatening that he wasn't coming back without those two. When they left, Jordan retired again even though he wasn't ready to retire for good, hence his comeback with the Wizards three years later.
