Kate is still with us, bless her heart [View all]
From Nance, her friend:
Hello dear family, Today is Kate's 54th birthday. Please take a moment to wish her a blessed and happy birthday.
I imagine that the day Kate was born the earth and all of her lifeforms sang. Another Being of Light had just entered the earth journey to illuminate love, healing, and Light. Kate has done this service all of her life. Soon that service here will end.
Last Tuesday Kate received the results of tests. A fistula has developed between her duodenum and her bladder. Because of her physical condition and tumors, it cannot be repaired. On Tuesday her doctor's told her that nothing more could be done. She will no longer have treatment and has entered palative care. When the time comes she will enter into Hospice at CTCA in Tulsa.
She was released from the hospital and is back in the quest room with Brad. I spoke with her every day last week. Our hour chats were full of inspiration. The music is back in Kate's voice and she has more energy than before. She spends her days with Brad. She writes in her journal. She plans for crossing over. She also makes beautiful inspiration cards that she hands out to everyone she encounters. The staff and patients at CTCA are so inspired by Kate and Brad. Kate is moving towards her death on this earth and rebirth on the other side spending every moment on a beauty walk.
I first heard the words "beauty walk" from her. To me it means to be in the moment observing love and beauty and healing in all of creation despite what might be occurring. She is a master.
No one know when she will pass--a few days, a few weeks, a month, longer? What Kate knows is that every moment is an opportunity to be of service. She recognizes that to die with grace and gladness is an act of service for all of us.
She read me a quote from a book she consults each day for inspiration. It said. We came here to live lives of greatness--not fame. A life of greatness is a life of service. Martin Luther King. Kate continues to live a life of greatness.
She and Brad remain in Tulsa and will remain there until Kate crosses over. Brad is by her side giving her loving and attentive care.
On Wednesday Kate and I talked about her bucket list. On it was a desire to eat one more piece of pizza and to eat lobster once again. She has not had solid food for a while now but the doctor's have given her the ok to try it. Today she is going to have pizza for her birthday. Please join me in a special prayer that she can eat it with much enjoyment and without causing harm.
I will keep you informed. Please pray for a peaceful passing for my dear sister, Kate. Please pray for her husband, Brad.
I love you all.
