1. I just found out tonight that food is cooked in oil

due to the"oil/lamp" theme. I was watching a holiday cooking show and they went to a Jewish home where they made various treats including potato pancakes/latkes. I buy them at Trader Joe's and are very tasty. I am an atheist but I love celebrating treats and customs from various cultures. The raspberry rugelach they made has me itching to go buy some tomorrow. Ralph's supermarket has pretty good ones.
