17. I live in Philadelphia...the pope fellatio fever has been going on for months

I *assume* there's other news going on inthe world today -- wouldn't know it through local news. "At 1:18pm today we have word that Pope Francis..yes, yes..we are getting word that he passed gas. We have reporters live in Washington...."

2 blocks from my house is a church with the bones of an American Saint. They are expecting 1 million pilgrims between today and Sunday to pass by.

They started towing vehicles of people who lived in "the box" (the prohibited zone) last Sunday. So those poor saps get to spend a week without their cars. Main streets shutting down as of 6pm tonight and more tomorrow.

We have stocked up --lots of liquor, food, catfood for the kitties. I have a parking spot outside my house. Live in a part of the n'hood with ample parking---well, before today. I'm glad I got a spot - my husband took the train to work (he works right behind the Parkway where the pope is going to be, can't get to work by car).

They're using the Ben Franklin bridge for foot traffic only on Sat/Sun for people whose tour busses are parking in Camden for the pope & mass. They're saying "expect a 3-4 hour walk from Camden to the Parkway"---yeah, EACH WAY. Jesus. The people outside the St John Neumann church that I saw today had an average age of 249, so I'm not sure how these old folks are gonna manage a 3-4 hour walk *each way*, plus standing during the whole thing.

I'm staying put. Got liquor, got food, got studying to do for school.

I'll be glad when this clusterfuck is done. Oh! No trash pickup this week---nothing like keeping 2 weeks of trash in a 2bd apartment. Mmmm...what's that smell? Oh, it's just rotten food.
