Pope Francis to make movie debut. [View all]
My first thought was a sequel to "Spotlight", or perhaps a buddy-movie where Frank teams up with an Italian maverick cop, played by Jackie Chan, to uncover corruption in Vatican City. But it seems I was aiming too high - it's a remake:
Pope Francis, the head of the global Catholic church, is to be the first pope to appear in a film. The pontiff will play himself in Beyond the Sun, an Italian-made family movie based on the gospels, which was inspired by the Popes call for film-makers to cater for children when thinking about how Jesuss message should be communicated through cinema.
All profits from the film are to be donated to two Argentinian charities that help at-risk children and young adults. Shooting is due to begin imminently in Italy.

Appreciate the irony of the choice of charities, though.
So, what might further remake movie projects for Blank Frank be? "Dude, Where's My Car"? "The Usual Suspects"? "Apocalypse Now!"? "The Pope of Greenwich Village"? "Father Ted"? "God Told Me To"?
