Why not just have a sub pop up and take readings? Because a sub cant get 5, 10, 20, or 30,000 feet into the atmosphere to take readings of the entire storm that meteorologists need to be as accurate as possible about said storm.

Reason based in ignorance isn't reason. And if this story is an example of you "interjecting high reason" into the discussion, I'm not sure your really know what the word even means.
