is vaccinating for childhood mumps better than having childhood mumps? So much has changed in beliefs about who should be vaccinated over the years. I had measles mumps and chicken pox as a kid, I thought it was normal and to be expected.

I have no kids so I don't know exactly what's expected these days. I do know my family was devastated by a flu shot for someone who really never got the flu anyway. We still have alot to learn about the long term benefit (or not) of vaccinating for everything. I'm not saying all vaccinations, are bad, because I don't know. but I have good reason to fear them.
