3. I've been thinking along those lines lately, without

consulting an almanac or weather forecast.

For several years here in western NY, we've had warm autumns and the leaves were late in changing colors. The first week in October this year looked like more of the same with temps in the 80s F for about 5 days. But they dropped to lower than normal and have been mostly in the 40s F and occasional low 50s.

However, we had such a hot summer that it will take a long time for Lake Erie to cool. So that means lake effect snow.
