What I've noticed is that people are often ridiculed or shamed for listening to that inner voice. They forget that the uneasy feeling is a part of our old instincts, and is there for a reason. Once you begin to listen to your instincts when it comes to judging whether people are trustworthy/safe, you actually feel more at peace. (At least that's my experience.)
