It's the backlash RedQueen often talks about and it's happening everywhere. Feminism, in order to grow as a movement, had to let go of the cis-white, hetero, middle class women as her many "leaders" and embrace intersectionallity, which it has started to do with incredible results.

In a small way, part we can thank the MRA movement-- that toxic wasteland of bitterness and bile, because they tried to equate themselves as a kind off male feminist movement. There is no valid comparison. Like asking about a "international men's day"? What. The. Fuck. Read history.

We can thank Right wingers, for the barrage of attacks on women's rights.

We can thank idiots like Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter, who are, well idiots.

Mostly we can thank the feminists who never gave up, never gave in, kept the battle going, despite threats of rape and violence, despite being mocked constantly, despite the shying away from the label feminist, by women who support feminist values.

Those with Anti-women agendas Blamed feminism for just about every damn thing, apparently not realizing that there are healthy, positive and inclusive men's movements, who are strong feminist allies. Not realizing feminists are GBLT allies. Not realizing the movement wasn't dead, just doing a little internal restructuring.
