many state may not put a seal on you lic but best believe the police cruiser knows once he types in you lic tag if you have a CCW. The putting of handgun permit info on the card in a non visible encrypted machine readable only format to prevent abuse by 3rd party companies

example some bar/club company's card scanners read the encoding an note if the ID has a motorcycle endorsement or CDL. That information is often sold either in aggregate format or in direct attachment to name/address. example i visited a bar in atlanta a year after i got my new address and lic with it on it. about 1 month after that trip I started getting advertisements from motorcycle dealerships shops and accessory companies at my new address (I have not ridden or owned a motorcycle or shopped for parts/accessories in 8 years plus) what was most interesting they were from GA(atlanta area) merchants.

The encoding should not be able to tell a if a person has or does not have the right or ccw until the encrypted token is sent to the state computer over authorized computer system (like state lottery machines or something similar) to the state and the return is a pass/fail.

But the concept is sound and i support it. The police already do this on the back end by combining databases. Make it easy for merchants to be compliant and dont expose people's privacy and no complaints from me.

also keeping an updated prohibited persons list also would be good.
