3. What the hell is "amendatory veto powers?"

In going to go look that up, but it sounds like a signing statement on steroids. Why have a legislature if the governor can just rewrite the law to suit himself?

An amendatory veto must be overridden by a three-fifths vote of both houses, or accepted by a simple majority vote. If the legislature takes no action on an AV, the entire bill dies.


OK, not as bad as I thought, but that's still stinky.
