But I think you have a couple minor errors of fact. One is that the GCA of '34 didn't ban sawed-off shotguns, machine guns, etc. Just imposed a hefty (basically prohibitive) tax on such items. It also did not end the mail order sale of guns. They were still being sold by mail until the sixties, when congress passed a ban courtesy of Lee Harvey Oswald, who bought both his rifle and revolver by mail.
