Every potential enemy out there would have to mount a sea invasion, which would be easy to spot and eliminate before these guys knew what was going on.

BTW, my town has been struggling with deer for years, but we stopped the "anyone with a hunting license" solution a while back when one of the stalwarts blew up a farmer's irrigation fuel tank.

Really pissed off the farmer.
