“Hopefully, the Republican Congress will heed this indictment of the Speaker’s would-be assassin as a wake-up call to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people, including felons, fugitives, domestic abusers, and the severely mentally ill,” Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, said in an statement emailed Wednesday.

Maybe this will get some attention in the House. Most people are unaware that in 1954 there was a gun attack on the House from the gallery. After that scrutiny of visitors got a lot tighter.
