Looking at the chart is illustrative of the fear marketing the NRA and gun lobby does. In 1994 Clinton signed the Assault Weapon's Ban and gunners ran out and bought guns. Ownership went flat through the Bush years and jumped again with Obama's election and even more with his re-election.

Gunners are soooooo predictable and malleable. NRA says BOO! and gunners go buy guns. It's hard to believe that otherwise intelligent people can be lead so easily. Poor babies.
