5. Bad idea. It would be just like open carry of firearms.

That badge would allow for the sort of public intimidation that the open carry geeks live for. Concealed carry should be exactly that: concealed carry of firearms, based on proper training and permitting. Trust me, there is a radical difference in mindsets between concealed carry and open carry.

And that's very good advice being dispensed at Texas State: if a shooting situation develops on campus, any concealed carrier who tries to be that proverbial Good Guy With A Gun is just asking to take a bullet from law enforcement. I personally believe that college campuses should be gun free zones. If the NRA doesn't like it, so much the better.
