Females of a certain age send physical signals that the male brain interprets as fertility.
Signals the females themselves are not aware of.

In some species, that leads to intercourse and propagation of the species.

Us humans of course, are supposed to be aware of that, and above that.

Unfortunately . . .

Yes, the main male rape perpetrator is one from the family or close community.

Not defending it - just the opposite, males of all ages need to be made aware of those basic instinctive urges, and be given tools to avoid 'unfortunate' (rape) situations.

The 'Not in our family' approach doesn't wash, there needs to be open and frank discussions to explore the topic.
Fathers, mothers - talk to your sons. And your daughters, so they are aware of the danger signs.
