8. It's never wise to trust without it being earned

I certainly learned that the hard way. From both genders.

It still isn’t normal or healthy to have an exaggerated response to either gender, but it is not *unexpected* that that happens to a victim. And, being a victim, particularly when being victimized by family who are ideally trustworthy protective caregivers, can raise the likelihood of being taken advantage of in the future and having a harder time distinguishing safe people with normal emotional spreads from people who are pathological.

On the quantity side, ‘many’ may offend just isn’t as easily quantified with a population this large. The majority won’t, but with more people comes a proportionally higher number of offenders, and our country never even passed common sense reforms when they had the chance decades ago… so it had a cascading effect.
