2. Dan Rather lost all credibility for me.

I was a loyal fan of CBS News, "60 Minutes," their perceived "liberal" lean.

Then, Election Night, Gore vs. Bush.

I listened to Rather's annoying homespun Texas witticisms (incongruous for a polished national reporter), and his repeated promise that CBS would not call any States until they were absolutely sure!

When he called Florida for Gore, the election was over! It was "Florida, Florida, Florida" and Gore had won!

I was doubly sure, because the polls were still open in the Florida panhandle (Central Time Zone). This result had to be rock-solid - how often do they call it before they finish voting?

The rest is history - and Dan Rather is dead to me (figure of speech).

Unless he can tell me what the frequency is.
