3. I watch/listen to several that way

Background noise really. I wouldn't watch it on my phone as my first experience.

And I advocate heavily for seeing things in the theater. I love film and the experience of it all. But not every film for every reviewing requires undivided and pristine conditions for it. There's plenty of comedies I toss in as background on the phone to pull up while waiting for kids to finish activities and the like. Some TV shows I do the same with in just having them easily streamable from my Tivo on it.

Course, I also had my father complaining about how people watching movies on their laptops just made no sense.

Generational changes, habits change, etc.
