I wouldn't say Part I was "amazing", but it was certainly a well-balanced and enjoyable sleeper hit with memorable characters you became interested in. The fact that they are making a series out of it now stands as testament to its longevity.

Part II was OK.

The Terminator came out in 1984 as well. That was amazing!
