In the pre modern era the convention s had a lot more to do with the VP than now.

Hannegan was the guy who was promoting somebody else and warmed to Truman at the convention and engineered Truman's ascent.

FDR wanted William Douglas the most. Can you imagine what a disaster that would have been? And I love my fellow Washingtonian.
If I were to vote in a presidential
