The Democratic party is not a monolith. "It" doesn't want anything, it is the sum of its members and leadership which go many different ways.
Where is the "should" in platform and policy? It's not a moral imperative. It's an opinion.
If Warren is so energizing how did she fail to energize voters? That's the problem with those who dropped out of the race. Only those who drop out early can seem new for a VP slot.
Biden will choose who he is comfortable with, can work with, more than anything. My view is he might be best to bypass all of the female former presidential candidates, and choose a governor in a crucial state. And I don't think he should do so early, it creates more suspense if held until mid-summer, and the VP is a fresh, new, energizing entity at that time.
