(96,043 posts)If he does, he is responsible for what his subordinates do and say, and if he does not like what they do or say, he must fire them or otherwise rein them in. If he does not do this, their speech is his speech, their acts are his acts.
If he does not run his campaign, if he has no control over his staff, then not only is he incompetent as a leader, but he is not a man any deal can be struck with, because he hasn't got anything he can deliver beyond his own person. It is not even a question of trust, he simply is incapable of delivering on a deal struck, whatever his intention may be.
