Hitler was lucky to get Judge Georg Neithardt on two cases. Neithardt was a bit lenient after a conviction for stirring up a riot in 1921 - Hitler got three months of which he served one. His conviction for the Beer Hall Putsch was for high treason. For that Neithardt sentenced hm to only five years in prison and later the sentence was reduced to nine months. It was probably the best Neithardt could do for Hitler. Of course Hitler was not the Chancellor-of-Germany-elect so did not yet have an overwhelming national presence and had to face some consequences. Neithardt let Hitler and his co-defendants get away with egregious court room behavior and did all kinds of favors as far as presentation of evidence, witnesses, etc.

See any similarities to more recent events?
