Dems Are Calling Trump's Bluff in Bold Strategy Shift... Good!!! [View all]

MeidasTouch Network and Ben Meiselas

Democrats are deploying a bold new strategy to hold Donald Trump accountable for his long history of empty promises and blatant lies. By crafting legislation that mirrors Trump’s campaign commitments—such as capping credit card interest rates, supporting unions, and prioritizing American workers—they’re forcing the former president to either back his own words or expose himself as the fraud he is.

MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas recently highlighted this approach, describing it as a mix of reverse psychology and legislative traps. “Trump’s campaign was a masterclass in deceit,” Meiselas said. “Now, Democrats are calling his bluff, taking his promises and saying, ‘Here, sign this.’”

This new strategy shift mirrors a plan we suggested recently on the MeidasTouch Podcast; that Democrats must stop being reactive and should instead go on the offense, putting Trump and the GOP in the defensive position of having to explain why they are against policies that most Americans support.

One example of this strategy comes from Senator Bernie Sanders, who is introducing a bill to cap credit card interest rates at 10%. The proposal directly reflects a promise Trump made during his campaign. “Great idea,” Sanders said. “Let’s see if Trump supports it.” Sanders has also been vocal about health care reform, seizing on the momentum of RFK Jr.’s “Make America Healthy Again” slogan to outline a comprehensive plan addressing the country’s broken health care system.
