If at home then mashed potatoes, or maybe on occasion (yum!) potatoes au gratin.
A memory popping up. I think my mom made this for Thanksgiving, definitely for Christmas.
Greek meat stuffing. Ground beef, onions, butrer, garlic, raisins, and chestnuts(!), which made it unique for me, and maaaybe another ingredient, or two. I remember my mom making the "X" cut on the chestnut shells before baking.
The usual version actually has rice in it, but my mom didn't add that. However my sis's very long time friend whom I once got invited over for the holidays; his mom was Greek-American, and she added the rice.
It was a very tasty stuffing!
