10. Two of my favorite places in Atlanta: the Botanical Gardens and Mary Mac's!

Here is an interesting tidbit about the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. My youngest brother and his friends used to frequent the outdoor concerts at the ABG, with front row seats the rule not the exception. One night, about a decade ago, one of the women in the group felt a sharp pain in her hand in the middle of the concert. She, like my brother and several others, was a physician.

They moved to a lighted area and determined that she had, most likely, been bitten by a venomous snake! They never saw the snake, but when they got to the ER at Grady Hospital it was obviously a snakebite .. most likely an Eastern copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix). She was treated agressively and recovered fine.
