(68,789 posts)71. It was, and still is, the Chuck Jones animated "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
Ever since I can remember, I would tear up when the Grinchs heart grows three sizes at the end. Because that huge beaming smile is the look of someone who, for the first time in his life, is truly happy.
It was playing on the TV at the makeshift barracks where we were quartered during the loading and shipment phase of Desert Shield in December, 1990. I was afraid the guys would see me cry when that moment came. But I managed to control myself.
Ive never seen any of the other efforts to bring the story to the screen. And I never will. I dont understand the impulse to mess with perfection.

I loved them all and looked forward to watching them all every year. I'm so glad they still show them every year.
