I was questioning why the OP referred to it as the “Christmas” parade. There’s one float — the last one — that features Christmas. The point of the parade was to usher in the Christmas season, and specifically to do their shopping at Macy’s. But it was never called that, where other parades, in other cities, later in the season, are specifically called a Christmas parade.
