WASHINGTON - Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Washington, D.C. Saturday for "The Peoples March," a demonstration to oppose President-elect Donald Trump ahead of his inauguration on Jan. 20.
The rally is expected to begin at 10 a.m. on Jan. 18 and the march is set to take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., starting at the Washington Monument.
Its being organized by several activist groups, including Planned Parenthood, the National Womens Law Center, Abortion Access Now and the Womens March.
"In 2025, the U.S. will begin a new presidential term with the start of an openly authoritarian administration. We face a government of billionaires, con artists, and white supremacists who are enriching themselves while dividing and attacking our communities," the event website reads. "They unite to divide. We must unite to rise."
