Generally known as 'the county extension office'. Ours is a gem in the form of an energetic woman/teacher who conducts master gardener classes and many workshops on different topics of interest to local gardeners. The extension office also offers a couple of plant sales each year, offering plants suitable for this location. Money raised helps fund workshops and events.

If there is a real 'app' for gardening in your location, it's a safe bet your local extension office can put you on to it and help you out.
