Curiously it expanded at the top of the innings and shrank at the bottom.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I believe the check swing did play on the big board, but Roberts charging the field and getting ejected (two nights in a row) might have taken top billing, plus Jansen got pulled later in the inning as things further deteriorated. Jansen DID have a poor outing, pitching erratically with apparent zero ball control, and facing Wilmer Flores only exacerbated thing.

Factoid: Wilmer Flores totally lives in Kenley Jansen's head.
